Reconnecting with Your True Nature: A Journey Back to Self
In the hustle and bustle of modern life, it's easy to lose sight of who we truly are. The constant demands of work, social obligations, and the ever-present digital distractions can pull us away from our core selves. Reconnecting with your true nature is about finding your way back to that essential part of you that is often buried beneath layers of societal expectations and daily stress. It's a journey of self-discovery, healing, and ultimately, peace. Here’s how you can embark on this transformative path.
Understanding Your True Nature
Your true nature is your authentic self—the person you are at your core, without the masks you wear to fit into various roles. It's the inner voice that speaks your deepest truths and the source of your passions and values. Reconnecting with your true nature involves peeling away the layers of external influence and rediscovering what makes you uniquely you.
Signs You're Disconnected from Your True Nature
Before you can reconnect, it's important to recognize the signs that you may be out of touch with your true self. Some common indicators include:
Feeling Perpetually Stressed or Anxious: When you're constantly in a state of stress, it often means you're living in a way that's out of alignment with your true nature.
Lack of Passion or Purpose: If you find yourself going through the motions without a sense of enthusiasm or direction, it could be a sign that you're not connected to your true desires.
Constantly Seeking Approval: Needing validation from others indicates that you're not fully embracing your authentic self.
Feeling Empty or Unfulfilled: An inner void can suggest that you're not nurturing your true needs and desires.
Steps to Reconnect with Your True Nature
Practice Mindfulness: Mindfulness helps you become more aware of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. By observing yourself without judgment, you can start to see the patterns that disconnect you from your true self.
Spend Time in Nature: Nature has a unique way of grounding us and bringing us back to our roots. Take time to walk in the woods, sit by the ocean, or simply enjoy a park. The tranquility of nature can help you tune into your inner voice.
Reflect on Your Values: Take some time to write down what truly matters to you. What are your core values? What principles guide your life? Understanding these can help you make decisions that are in line with your true nature.
Engage in Creative Activities: Creativity is a powerful way to express your true self. Whether it's painting, writing, dancing, or playing music, engaging in creative activities can help you reconnect with your inner passions.
Meditate: Meditation allows you to quiet the mind and listen to your inner self. Regular meditation practice can help you gain clarity about who you are and what you want from life.
Seek Authentic Connections: Surround yourself with people who accept you for who you are. Authentic relationships provide a safe space for you to be yourself and can support you in your journey back to your true nature.
Listen to Your Intuition: Your intuition is a direct link to your true self. Learn to trust your gut feelings and let them guide you in making decisions that resonate with your authentic nature.
Declutter Your Life: Sometimes, physical clutter can lead to mental clutter. Simplify your environment to create space for your true self to emerge.
How Yoga Teacher Training Helps You Reconnect with Your True Nature
Yoga teacher training (YTT) is an immersive experience that goes beyond learning how to teach yoga poses. It’s a transformative journey that facilitates a deep reconnection with your true nature. Here’s how:
Deep Self-Reflection: YTT involves extensive self-reflection through journaling, meditation, and discussion. This process helps you uncover and confront aspects of yourself that you might have ignored or suppressed.
Mind-Body Connection: Through the practice of asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), and meditation, YTT strengthens the mind-body connection. This heightened awareness allows you to tune into your body’s signals and your inner feelings more acutely.
Philosophical Insights: YTT introduces you to the rich philosophical traditions of yoga, including the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. These teachings offer profound insights into the nature of the self and the universe, encouraging you to explore your true nature.
Community and Support: Being part of a YTT community provides a supportive environment where you can be your authentic self. The shared journey fosters deep connections and a sense of belonging, reinforcing your reconnection with your true nature.
Lifestyle Transformation: YTT often promotes a holistic lifestyle that includes a healthy diet, regular exercise, and mindfulness practices. Adopting these habits supports overall well-being and alignment with your true self.
Empowerment and Confidence: The process of learning to teach yoga builds confidence and empowers you to express yourself authentically. As you guide others in their practice, you also strengthen your own connection to your true nature.
Purpose and Passion: Many people find their passion and purpose through YTT. Whether you go on to teach yoga or simply integrate the teachings into your life, the clarity and direction you gain can be life-changing.
The Benefits of Reconnecting with Your True Nature
Reconnecting with your true nature brings a multitude of benefits. It leads to greater self-awareness, which in turn fosters self-acceptance and self-love. You'll find that you have more energy and enthusiasm for life because you're no longer wasting energy on maintaining a façade. Your relationships will improve as you attract and nurture connections with people who resonate with your authentic self. Most importantly, you'll experience a deep sense of peace and fulfillment that comes from living in alignment with who you truly are.
Reconnecting with your true nature is not a one-time event but an ongoing journey. It requires patience, self-compassion, and a willingness to explore the depths of your being. However, the rewards are profound. By reconnecting with your true self, you unlock the potential for a more authentic, joyful, and meaningful life. Embrace the journey, consider the transformative potential of yoga teacher training, and let your true nature shine.

Discover the union between cacao & yoga
Seekers of wellness and balance! Today, we're diving into a deliciously divine duo that's been captivating hearts and souls across the globe: the beautiful harmony between cacao and yoga. Two of my favorite things! My curiosity of yoga brought me to cacao so it's only fitting to talk about the alchemy between the two.
Picture this: You roll out your yoga mat, feeling the gentle embrace of the earth beneath you. As you settle into your practice, you take a sip of rich, velvety cacao elixir, and suddenly, the world around you seems to melt away. Your senses awaken, your spirit soars, and you find yourself effortlessly flowing through each asana with grace and ease.
But what is it about cacao and yoga that makes them such perfect companions? Let's dive deeper into the essence of these ancient practices and uncover the profound connection they share.
Firstly, let's talk about cacao. This sacred plant medicine has been revered by indigenous cultures for centuries for its abundant healing properties and profound ability to elevate the spirit. Rich in antioxidants, minerals, and mood-enhancing compounds, cacao nourishes both the body and the soul, leaving you feeling uplifted, connected, and utterly blissful.
Now, onto yoga – the timeless art of movement, breath, and mindfulness. Through the practice of yoga, we cultivate strength, flexibility, and presence, allowing us to connect more deeply with ourselves and the world around us. Yoga invites us to surrender to the present moment, to let go of tension and resistance, and to embrace the fullness of our being with acceptance.
When combined, cacao and yoga create a potent synergy that amplifies the benefits of both practices. The rich, grounding energy of cacao serves as the perfect companion for your yoga journey, helping you to drop into a state of deep relaxation and receptivity. Whether enjoyed as a ceremonial elixir before your practice or integrated into your post-yoga ritual, cacao provides a deliciously decadent way to enhance your experience on the mat.
But it's not just about the physical or sensory aspects – the union of cacao and yoga also nourishes the soul. Together, they invite us to explore the depths of our inner landscape, to release what no longer serves us, and to connect with the wisdom of our hearts. Through the alchemy of cacao and yoga, we tap into a reservoir of joy, gratitude, and love, awakening our true essence and aligning with the rhythm of life itself.
So, whether you're a seasoned yogi or a curious newcomer, we invite you to embrace the magic of cacao and yoga and discover the profound transformation that awaits you. Allow yourself to surrender to the dance of movement and stillness, to the sweet embrace of cacao's warmth, and to the infinite wisdom that resides within. As you merge with the rhythm of your breath and the beat of your heart, may you find yourself immersed in a state of pure bliss and unity – a true embodiment of the divine.
With gratitude,

One of the most enriching aspects of both YTT’s and yoga retreats is the sense of community that develops among participants. Watching our students form these life-long bonds is one of the most rewarding aspects of these trainings for us teachers.
NOURISHING OUR BODIES & MINDS

From silent, meditative mornings to mindful eating, participants learn to savor each moment and live with greater awareness.
Self-Discovery and Growth
Beyond the physical practice of yoga and completing students’ YTT certification, the retreat offers a space for self-discovery and personal growth. The journey of self-discovery is both empowering and transformative.
Integration and Reflection
As the retreat draws to a close, participants are encouraged to reflect on their experiences and integrate what they've learned into their daily lives. Reignite Your Creativity as a Yoga Teacher
Yoga class during our Sedona Retreat
Teaching yoga is a beautiful and fulfilling skill to develop, but there will be times along your teaching career that you don’t feel inspired to create a sequence. It is the inevitable ebb and flow of life that some days you are ultra creative, and some days it feels like your brain just won’t work.
You may also feel like you have said the same thing a thousand times, and you’ve repeated Warrior 2 to Reverse Warrior even more. How can you move past a creative block?
Here are 3 tips to help move you past this hump!
Take class from another teacher. Taking class is one of the most effective ways to find inspiration. Go to your favorite studio, try someone new, or hop on to YouTube. Take someone else’s flow, and allow yourself to be guided and held.
Take a break from teaching. This might not be super ideal, or even do-able at times, but it is necessary! Sometimes you just need a break. Take the weekend off, get a class or two subbed out, and let yourself do anything else aside from teaching. You can come back refreshed and ready to teach from your heart!
Self practice with no agenda. Roll out your mat and move your body in a way that feels good. It doesn’t need to flow, it doesn’t need to be the same side to side, it doesn’t need to be anything. Just allow yourself to feel into your body and see what creates itself.
These are our go-to remedies for the times in my life that (yes, even us) lack inspiration. We apply this not only to yoga classes, but to meditations, sound baths, workshops…you could say everything. We go down this list and do what we can, and more often than not... ta-da! Creativity unlocked!
A final reminder that lacking inspiration happens to all of us at some point. It's temporary, and we hope this helps you the next time you need a boost in creativity!
